Kepler-749 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-749 is a star located 2350 light-years away. It has 0.79 solar masses, 0.75 solar radii, and a temperature of 5010 K, all smaller or cooler than the Sun. It is 4.57 billion years old. One planet is known to orbit this host.

Kepler-749 b is a Neptune-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet completes an orbit every 17.3 days and has a radius of 3.1 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. In size classification, a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius.
