Kepler-739 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-739 is a star 4470 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.27 billion years old and has a mass of 0.93 solar masses and a radius of 0.9 solar radii. Its temperature is 5600 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's.

The sole planet, Kepler-739 b, was discovered by transit in 2016, when it passed in front of its star and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips helped establish its orbital period of 12.5 days. The planet is Neptune-like, a size class for planets reaching 4 times Earth's radius, and its radius is 3.32 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
