Kepler-650 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-650 is a star located 2880 light-years away. It has one known planet. The star is 6.46 billion years old, with a mass of 1.08 solar masses and a radius of 1.35 solar radii. Its temperature is 5850 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-650 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.96 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes an orbit every 3.03 days.
