Kepler-627 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-627 is a distant star located 3210 light-years away. It is a single-star system with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 2.24 billion years old, with a mass of 1.3 solar masses and a radius of 1.49 solar radii. Its temperature is 6420 K. The star's reported mass estimate, radius estimate, and temperature are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The only known planet orbiting Kepler-627 is Kepler-627 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-627 b completes an orbit every 40.7 days. Its radius is 3.73 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
