Kepler-594 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-594 is a star located 2510 light-years away. It is 4.27 billion years old and has 0.91 solar masses, 0.87 solar radii, and a temperature of 5490 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-594 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-594 b completes an orbit every 13.6 days and has a radius of 2.18 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
