Kepler-358 is a single star located 3590 light-years away, and two planets orbit it. The star is 5.01 billion years old, with a mass of 0.94 solar masses, a radius of 0.91 solar radii, and a temperature of 5570 K. Its reported mass is smaller than the Sun’s, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun’s.
Both planets were discovered by transit in 2014. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness.
Kepler-358 b is Neptune-like, with an orbital period of 34.1 days and a radius of 2.72 Earth radii. Its reported radius is larger than Earth’s. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest year and the smallest radius.
Kepler-358 c is also Neptune-like, with an orbital period of 83.5 days and a radius of 2.85 Earth radii. Its reported radius is larger than Earth’s. Among the listed planets, it has the longest year and the largest radius.
