Kepler-340 and Its Two Neptune-Like Planets

Kepler-340 is a star 2640 light-years away with two known planets, both discovered by transit in 2014. The host star is 1.29 billion years old, has a mass of 1.65 solar masses, a radius of 2.08 solar radii, and a temperature of 7120 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

Both planets are Neptune-like, a size class that reaches four times Earth's radius. Kepler-340 b has an orbital period of 14.8 days and a radius of 2.53 Earth radii. Kepler-340 c has an orbital period of 22.8 days and a radius of 3.37 Earth radii. Each planet's reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, Kepler-340 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius, while Kepler-340 c has the longest year and the largest radius.
