Kepler-310 and Its Three Planets

Kepler-310 is a star located 1960 light-years away. It is 4.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.91 solar masses and a radius of 0.88 solar radii. Its temperature is 5550 K, cooler than the Sun's. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are both smaller than the Sun's. Three planets are known to orbit this host.

All three planets were discovered by transit in 2014, when each passed in front of the star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-310 b is an Earth-like planet with an orbital period of 13.9 days and a radius of 1.19 Earth radii. Kepler-310 c is Neptune-like, with an orbital period of 56.5 days and a radius of 3.38 Earth radii. Kepler-310 d is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 92.9 days and a radius of 2.47 Earth radii.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-310 b has the shortest year, at 13.9 days, while Kepler-310 d has the longest, at 92.9 days. Kepler-310 c falls between them with the second-shortest year, at 56.5 days. In size, Kepler-310 b has the smallest radius, at 1.19 Earth radii, and Kepler-310 c has the largest, at 3.38 Earth radii. Kepler-310 d has the second-smallest radius, at 2.47 Earth radii. The radii of Kepler-310 c and Kepler-310 d are both larger than Earth's.
