Kepler-245 is a star located 2810 light-years away. It is 3.63 billion years old, has a mass of 0.86 solar masses and a radius of 0.8 solar radii, and its temperature is 5170 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. Four planets orbit this host.
All four were found by transit, the method in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-245 b, a Neptune-like planet, was reported in 2014 with an orbital period of 7.49 days and a radius of 2.57 Earth radii. Kepler-245 c, a Super-Earth, also reported in 2014, has an orbital period of 17.5 days and a radius of 2.18 Earth radii. Kepler-245 d, another Neptune-like planet reported in 2014, has an orbital period of 36.3 days and a radius of 3.03 Earth radii. Kepler-245 e, a Super-Earth reported in 2016, has an orbital period of 3.22 days and a radius of 1.75 Earth radii.
Every listed planet's reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, Kepler-245 e has the shortest year by reported estimates and the smallest radius by reported estimates. Kepler-245 d has the longest year by reported estimates and the largest radius by reported estimates. Kepler-245 b has the second-shortest year by reported estimates and the second-largest radius by reported estimates, while Kepler-245 c has the second-longest year by reported estimates and the second-smallest radius by reported estimates. In size-class terms, a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius and a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius.
