Kepler-1965 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1965 is a star located 1700 light-years away, with a mass of 0.976 solar masses, a radius of 0.994 solar radii, and a temperature of 5540 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are each smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, Kepler-1965 b, was discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1965 b completes its orbit every 41.9 days and has a radius of 1.35 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its Earth-like classification places it within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
