Kepler-1961 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1961 is a star located 3400 light-years away. It has a mass of 0.859 solar masses, a radius of 0.766 solar radii, and a temperature of 5400 K. The star's reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all smaller or cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-1961 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1961 b has an orbital period of 5.6 days, meaning it completes one orbit in that time, and a radius of 1.62 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
