Kepler-1951 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1951 is a star located 4170 light-years away, with a mass of 0.782 solar masses, a radius of 0.9 solar radii, and a temperature of 5500 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, Kepler-1951 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1951 b completes an orbit every 20.7 days, and its radius of 2.32 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
