Kepler-1902 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1902 is a star 1120 light-years away with a single known planet. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.534 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.53 solar radii, and a reported temperature of 3850 K. Each of these reported stellar estimates is smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding value.

The one known planet is Kepler-1902 b, an Earth-like world discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1902 b orbits its star with an orbital period of 3.82 days and has a radius of 1.18 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, and its size class places it within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
