Kepler-1885 b: A Super-Earth in Transit

Kepler-1885 is a star located 2670 light-years from Earth. It has a mass of 0.977 solar masses, a radius of 0.86 solar radii, and a temperature of 5590 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-1885 b, is classified as a Super-Earth and was discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its orbital period is 2.52 days. Its radius is 1.51 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
