Kepler-1848 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1848 is a star located 1010 light-years away, with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star is 1.82 billion years old, has a mass of 0.843 solar masses, and a radius of 0.763 solar radii. Its temperature is 4980 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-1848 b, an Earth-like world discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1848 b orbits its star every 5.6 days and has a radius of 1.41 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Size classifications describe radius rather than composition, and an Earth-like planet stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
