Kepler-1827 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1827 is a star 2240 light-years away with one known planet in orbit. The host star is 11 billion years old and has a mass of 0.976 solar masses, a radius of 1.92 solar radii, and a temperature of 5190 K. Its mass is smaller than the Sun's, while its radius is larger and its temperature cooler.

The single planet, Kepler-1827 b, is classified as a Super-Earth and was discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1827 b completes an orbit every 3.7 days, and its radius is 1.86 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
