Kepler-1783 b: A Close-In Earth-Like World

Kepler-1783 is a star 861 light-years away with one known planet. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.859 solar masses, a radius estimate of 0.759 solar radii, and a temperature of 5110 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The only planet known to orbit Kepler-1783 is Kepler-1783 b. It belongs to the Earth-like size class, meaning its radius stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.32 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 8.28 days.

Kepler-1783 b was discovered by transit in 2021, when it passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness.
