Kepler-1754 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1754 is a star located 2340 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star has a reported mass estimate of 0.734 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.747 solar radii, and a temperature of 4720 K. Its mass and radius are each smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet is Kepler-1754 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1754 b orbits its star every 8.2 days, and its radius is 2.44 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
