Kepler-1704 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-1704 is a star 2720 light-years away with an age of 7.4 billion years, a mass of 1.13 solar masses, a radius of 1.7 solar radii, and a temperature of 5750 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, as is its reported radius estimate. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-1704 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1704 b has a mass of 1320 Earth masses, a radius of 11.9 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 989 days. Its radius and mass are both larger than Earth's, and its mass is roughly 4.16 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 4.27 g/cm³, 0.775 times Earth's.
