Kepler-1695 and Its Lone Known Planet

Kepler-1695 is a star 2580 light-years away with a reported mass of 0.96 solar masses, a radius of 0.987 solar radii, and a temperature of 5470 K. Each of those estimates is smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding value. One known planet orbits this host.

That planet, Kepler-1695 b, was discovered in 2020 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1695 b completes an orbit every 4.73 days and has a radius of 1.12 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its Earth-like classification places it within 1.5 times Earth's radius, a size class based on radius rather than composition.
