Kepler-1667 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1667 is a star 2040 light-years away with a single known planet. The host star has a mass of 1.09 solar masses, a radius of 1.09 solar radii, and a temperature of 5940 K, making it larger, more massive, and hotter than the Sun.

The system's lone world, Kepler-1667 b, is a Neptune-like planet discovered by transit in 2020. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1667 b orbits every 83.6 days and has a radius of 2.98 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its size class reflects that radius, not its composition.
