Kepler-1477 and Its Solitary Planet

Kepler-1477 is a star 2220 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.68 billion years old and has a mass of 0.81 solar masses and a radius of 0.78 solar radii. Its temperature is 5100 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The one planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1477 b, an Earth-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1477 b has an orbital period of 11.6 days and a radius of 1.18 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
