Kepler-1459 and Its Planet

Kepler-1459 is a star located 1490 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star's reported mass estimate is 0.78 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's, and its radius of 0.74 solar radii is also smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 4830 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 3.89 billion years.

The planet is Kepler-1459 b, an Earth-like planet discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. It orbits with an orbital period of 62.9 days, and its radius of 1.36 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
