Kepler-1430 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1430 is a single-star system 2860 light-years away with one planet. The star is 2.09 billion years old and has a mass of 0.77 solar masses, a radius of 0.72 solar radii, and a temperature of 4800 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's planet, Kepler-1430 b, was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1430 b is classified as Earth-like, meaning its radius stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. It has an orbital period of 2.46 days and a radius of 1.18 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
