Kepler-1375 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1375 is a star located 4670 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 1.66 billion years old, has a mass of 1.47 solar masses, a radius of 1.78 solar radii, and a temperature of 6700 K. Its mass and radius are larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1375 b was discovered by the transit method in 2016. This technique detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet passes in front of it, and repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period. Kepler-1375 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. It orbits its star every 3.3 days and has a radius of 1.74 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
