Kepler-1373: A Distant Star With a Single Transit-Detected Planet

Kepler-1373 is a star located 5540 light-years away. It has one planet, discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The host star is 2.51 billion years old, with a mass of 1.22 solar masses, a radius of 1.33 solar radii, and a temperature of 6300 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet, Kepler-1373 b, is classified as Earth-like, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. It has a radius of 1.16 Earth radii and an orbital period of 1.29 days.
