Kepler-1359 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1359 is a star 2010 light-years from Earth, with one known planet in orbit. The star is estimated to be 2.34 billion years old, with a mass of 0.78 solar masses and a radius of 0.72 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 4710 K, cooler than the Sun's, while its mass and radius are both smaller than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-1359 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1359 b completes an orbit every 59.5 days. Its radius is 2.83 Earth radii, larger than Earth's and, as a Neptune-like planet, within four times Earth's radius.
