Kepler-1336 is a star 3670 light-years away that hosts two known planets. The star is 12.3 billion years old, has a mass of 0.94 solar masses, a radius of 1.3 solar radii, and a temperature of 5510 K. Its mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its radius estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
Both planets were discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods.
Kepler-1336 b is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 23.2 days and a radius of 1.98 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates. Kepler-1336 c is also a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 5.78 days and a radius of 1.71 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's.
