Kepler-1257 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1257 is a star located 3610 light-years away. It has one planet: Kepler-1257 b. The host star is 4.37 billion years old, has a mass of 0.9 solar masses, a radius of 0.87 solar radii, and a temperature of 5500 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-1257 b is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016, the same method that established its orbital period. It orbits every 2.67 days and has a radius of 1.52 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Size classes are set by radius: an Earth-like planet stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius, while a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times.
