Kepler-1254 and Its Three Planets

Kepler-1254 is a star located 2030 light-years away, and three planets have been reported orbiting it. All three were found by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods.

The host star is 5.62 billion years old, with a reported mass of 0.78 solar masses and a reported radius of 0.75 solar radii. Both the star's reported mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 4990 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The planets are Kepler-1254 b, Kepler-1254 c, and Kepler-1254 d. Kepler-1254 b is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 9.99 days and a radius of 1.55 Earth radii. Kepler-1254 c and Kepler-1254 d are both Earth-like, meaning their radii fall within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
