Kepler-1210 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1210 is a star located 3840 light-years away, and it hosts exactly one known planet. The star is 5.13 billion years old, has a mass of 0.94 solar masses, and a radius of 0.92 solar radii. Its temperature is 5570 K, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's.

The single planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1210 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1210 b completes an orbit every 8.07 days, and its radius is 1.7 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. As a Super-Earth, its size class places it below 2.5 times Earth's radius.
