Kepler-1163 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1163 is a star 1560 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 2.88 billion years old and has a mass of 1.22 solar masses, a radius of 1.35 solar radii, and a temperature of 6300 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all reported as greater than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-1163 b, an Earth-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. It completes an orbit every 6.12 days and has a radius of 1.03 Earth radii. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods.
