Kepler-112 is a star located 1670 light-years away, and two planets have been found orbiting it. The host star is estimated to be 3.98 billion years old, with a mass of 0.89 solar masses and a radius of 0.86 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5630 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
Both planets were discovered by transit in 2014, the method in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-112 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. It has an orbital period of 8.41 days and a radius of 2.36 Earth radii. Kepler-112 c is also a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 28.6 days and a radius of 2.4 Earth radii. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, Kepler-112 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while Kepler-112 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
