Kepler-1108 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1108 is a star located 2500 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star is 4.17 billion years old, with a mass of 0.88 solar masses, a radius of 0.84 solar radii, and a temperature of 5410 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

The planet Kepler-1108 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1108 b completes an orbit every 4.51 days. With a radius of 1.46 Earth radii, it is larger than Earth and falls within the Earth-like size class.
