Kepler-1083 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1083 is a star located 2940 light-years away with one known planet in its system. The host star has a mass of 0.81 solar masses and a radius of 0.77 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature is 5050 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 4.68 billion years.

The single planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1083 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. This planet completes an orbit every 33.4 days, and its radius of 3.36 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness.
