Kepler-1064 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1064 is a star with one known planet. The star is estimated to be 3.89 billion years old, with a mass of 0.85 solar masses and a radius of 0.79 solar radii. Its temperature is 5150 K, cooler than the Sun, and both its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1064 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1064 b completes an orbit every 16.5 days. Its radius is 1.55 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it in the Super-Earth size class, which extends to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
