Kepler-1044 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1044 is a star located 4170 light-years away. It is 3.55 billion years old, has 1.08 solar masses and 1.11 solar radii, and a temperature of 5990 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-1044 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1044 b completes an orbit every 6.77 days and has a radius of 2.67 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
