Kepler-1024: A Distant Star and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1024 is a star located 3550 light-years away. It is 5.25 billion years old, has a mass of 0.81 solar masses, a radius of 0.78 solar radii, and a temperature of 5140 K. Its mass and radius are both smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-1024 b, a Neptune-like world discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 3.91 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 66.4 days.
