Kepler-1022 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1022 is a star located 1370 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 3.63 billion years old, with a mass of 0.71 solar masses and a radius of 0.68 solar radii. Its temperature is 4450 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1022 b is a Super-Earth. It was discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It was discovered in 2016. Its orbital period is 11 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit. Its radius is 2.36 Earth radii, and its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
