Kepler-1013 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1013 is a star 1380 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.27 billion years old and has a mass of 0.81 solar masses and a radius of 0.76 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 4950 K, which is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1013 b was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its orbital period is 18.9 days and its radius is 2.15 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
