Kepler-1933 b: A Close-In Earth-Like World

Kepler-1933 is a star located 1070 light-years away. It has a mass of 1.03 solar masses, a radius of 0.884 solar radii, and a temperature of 5740 K. Its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-1933 b, is classified as Earth-like. It was discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 1.18 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's; Earth-like planets stay within 1.5 times Earth's radius. Kepler-1933 b completes an orbit every 4.94 days.
