Kepler-1683 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1683 is a star 2390 light-years away with one known planet. The host star has a mass of 0.909 solar masses and a radius of 1.02 solar radii, making it slightly less massive and slightly larger than the Sun. Its temperature is 5520 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The lone planet, Kepler-1683 b, was discovered in 2020 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star dims the observed brightness. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class reaching up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. Kepler-1683 b has a radius of 1.87 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and orbits its star every 15 days.
