Kepler-1650 b: A Sub-Earth Planet

Kepler-1650 is a star 438 light-years away with one known planet. The star has a mass of 0.326 solar masses, a radius of 0.334 solar radii, and a temperature of 3410 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1650 b, was discovered in 2017 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1650 b completes an orbit every 1.54 days. Its radius is 0.96 Earth radii, placing it in the Sub-Earth size class, which compares radius with Earth's and indicates a planet smaller than Earth.
