Kepler-1463 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1463 is a star located 5500 light-years away. It is 4.79 billion years old, has a mass of 0.96 solar masses, a radius of 0.95 solar radii, and a temperature of 5680 K. One planet orbits it.

That planet is Kepler-1463 b, a Super-Earth discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1463 b completes one orbit every 25.2 days. Its radius is 1.86 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Size classes such as Super-Earth compare radius with Earth's, with a Super-Earth reaching 2.5 times Earth's radius.
