Kepler-1412 and Its Lone Planet

Kepler-1412 is a star located 2460 light-years away with a single known planet in orbit. The host star is estimated to be 6.31 billion years old and has a mass of 1.06 solar masses, a radius of 1.27 solar radii, and a temperature of 5880 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, as is its reported radius estimate, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The one planet orbiting this star is Kepler-1412 b, a Sub-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1412 b completes an orbit every 3.61 days and has a radius of 0.83 Earth radii, a reported radius estimate smaller than Earth's.
