Kepler-1340 b: A Super-Earth

Kepler-1340 is a star located 3200 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 2.4 billion years old and has a mass of 1.27 solar masses, a radius of 1.42 solar radii, and a temperature of 6330 K. Its mass and radius are larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1340 b, is a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1340 b's radius is 1.55 Earth radii, larger than Earth's radius, and it completes an orbit every 0.665 days.
