KELT-14 and Its Lone Planet

KELT-14 is a G4 star 816 light-years away. Its mass is 1.24 solar masses and its radius is 1.52 solar radii; the star's reported mass and radius estimates are each larger than the Sun's. The star is 5.11 billion years old, and its temperature is 5720 K. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, KELT-14 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class that exceeds four times Earth's radius. Its radius is 19.5 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 408 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 1.28 times Jupiter's mass. KELT-14 b's orbital period is 1.71 days. Its mean density is 0.302 g/cm³, 0.0547 times Earth's.
