K2-47 is a star 1140 light-years away with a mass of 0.8 solar masses, a radius of 0.821 solar radii, and a temperature of 4900 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.
That planet is K2-47 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. It completes an orbit every 31.6 days and has a radius of 1.89 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. In this size class, a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness.
