K2-223: A Two-Planet System Around One Star

K2-223 is a star located 648 light-years away, with a reported mass of 1.06 solar masses - larger than the Sun's - and a radius of 0.99 solar radii. Its reported temperature of 5840 K is hotter than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this star. Both were discovered by transit, the method in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness.

K2-223 b is a Sub-Earth with a radius of 0.89 Earth radii, smaller than Earth's. It completes one orbit in 0.506 days, the shortest orbital period among the listed planets. K2-223 c is a Super-Earth with a radius of 1.5 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and orbits in 4.56 days, the longest orbital period among the listed planets.
