K2-194 is a star 2050 light-years away with one known planet. The host star has a mass of 1.11 solar masses and a radius of 1.28 solar radii. Its temperature is 5980 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are each larger or hotter than the Sun's.
The sole planet, K2-194 b, was discovered by transit in 2018. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness. K2-194 b orbits once every 39.7 days. Its radius is 3.64 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it within the Neptune-like size class, which reaches four times Earth's radius.
